I looked online to find some of my own photographs to add here, and pretty much every one of them featured my friends & family, which shows you how much I LOVE the Lake District. The joyous photograph of my grandchildren was taken on a boat we rented on Lake Windermere for a very big birthday of mine. I have this image blown up on my wall at home because it captures a most beautiful moment. The personalisation just reiterates the fact that you are touring with someone taking you to places I love & cherish. It will take us around 2 hours to drive from Liverpool to the Lakes, and there are several itineraries we could design. I suggest for an overview: Leave Liverpool 9.00 Arrive Bowness on Windermere approx 11.00 Take a ferry ride across Lake Windermere, followed by a vintage train to Haverthwaite Scenic drive around the lake to Hill Top, Sawry, home of Beatrix Potter. Lunch in the beautiful village, and explore the house and gardens where Peter Rabbit & Jemima Puddleduck roamed.
