Welsh Castles & Beatles
Wales really is incredible, and only 1.5 hours drive from Liverpool.
You could enjoy a couple of different day trips here, or even research some locations you've heard about and we can work out a tailor made trip. As long as the furthest travel is around 2 hours. One lady from a cruise ship recently had written to a pen pal on a remote lighthouse on the island of Anglesey. They had never met, but she requested a trip there, which we did, and was incredible. I have 2 x itineraries to suggest though.
1/ Welsh Castle | approx 7 Hours | £800 for up to 5
Drive from Liverpool to Conwy and spend some time in the magnificent castle, built between 1283 & 1289. Walk the walls, climb the turrets, then explore the town. Weather permitting we can enjoy a fish and chips on the picturesque harbour before our drive back to Liverpool to see more Beatles locations/.
2/Bangor & Portmerion - The Beatles in Wales | Approx 9 Hours | £900 for up to 5
Bangor University was the venue for The Transcendental Meditation event with The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1967 the Beatles and Rolling Stones both attended. Sadly The Beatles stay was cut short as it was here that the news broke about the death of their manager Brian Epstein.
Portmerion is a beautiful Italianate village in the heart of Wales. George Harrison, Brian Epstein & George Martin all came here to relax and escape the pressures. Brian even had his own apartment. George celebrated his 50th birthday with a party here and also recorded some of his Anthology interviews in the wonderful hotel and grounds. On this Day Tripper, we can visit both venues and drive throiugh the Welsh Countryside with stunning scenery and Castle photo ops. We can visit both venues enjoy a Welsh day our with a Beatles flavour.
Meals and entrance fees to the castles and Portmerion not included
